Programming
In the HOWse Consulting provides individualized programming with a focus on growing the whole person.
Our programming emphasizes hands-on exploration using creative play, storytelling, and artistic expression to develop critical thinking skills in our young children who are preparing for a classroom setting, so they can experience a smoother transition into a more structured learning environment.
For young learners familiar with classroom dynamics, we work on the foundational subjects of reading, writing, spelling and math, in a way that encourages a collaborative learning environment between home and school. Helping children gain confidence in their ability to process, retain, and apply their knowledge to every day situations, creates momentum and a sense of excitement with learning.
For students preparing for high school, our programming encourages accountability, responsibility, and resilience, by focusing on real life applications, so students can practise making wise decisions based upon their knowledge gained. During this learning process, students will begin to develop greater problem-solving abilities, by learning how to look at problems from different angles, ultimately gaining perspective.
Finding ways to engage our students in activities that support continued socio-emotional learning, we celebrate the process of learning and the little steps along the way.
To ensure we remain accountable to you and your loved ones, we provide grade level assessments as a way to measure your child’s educational growth. Our grade level assessments typically take place during a regular tutoring session, so areas requiring additional support are highlighted.
Environment and Space
In the HOWse Consulting acknowledges that both parents and teachers have a shared responsibility to educate today’s children. As a result, we offer a ‘back to the basics approach’, that includes a technology-free environment and educational learning space.
Understanding the importance of collaborative strategies, parents have an opportunity to relax in our cozy living room, as a way to unplug from the noises that demand their immediate attention. We offer this to our parents because we believe that it is necessary for all of us, to enjoy a few minutes of quiet, throughout the day.
